KYRA TEIS began her artistic career while studying Art, Folklore, and Religion at University of Delaware and Boston University.

She maintains her love of story and art in her career as an author-illustrator of children’s books. Her first book, Daughters of Eve Strong Women of the Bible, was an LA Times Children’s Best Seller. Two recent books Klezmer! and Sometimes When I’m Bored have been awarded Kirkus Stars.

She lives in Niskayuna with her husband, Jeff Zonderman, and their two daughters, Bella and Claire. In addition to illustrating, she also designs handmade clothing, which she sells through an online Etsy shop.
