Come join us this fall for Dr. Stephen Berk's newest lecture series, Books, prose, and the course of modern history
With the invention of the printing press and the emergence of mass literacy, the written word began to have an enormous influence on the course of history. I do not have a monopoly on the truth, but I believe that the books covered in this lecture series are among the most important in influencing the modern period. This is not an exhaustive list. Additional books when relevant to the subject matter will also be discussed.
